Toast Box

Toast Box is a chain restaurant around town known for having typical Singaporean and Malaysian food options.  On the menu, you'll find Kaya toast, Laksa, Nyong Yang, Pandan cake, Hainan Chicken, Nasi Lemak, and much more.  The set menu allows you to select a main entree and a drink...all for less than $50.  I call that a win-win situation!

I highly recommend the made-to-order milk tea! After watching the lengthy process of brewing and straining the tea a few times, it is then blended with condensed and evaporated milk, giving it just the perfect sweetness and silkiness!

Evident through the multiple successful locations and bustling crowds within, Toast Box fares well with the people of HK!  Now a fan of this popular cafe/bakery, I'll be back to try the famous toast (loaded with tons of butter...) and pandan cake!

Australia Dairy Company

I never thought I'd have scrambled eggs for dinner.  These eggs were probably the best scrambled eggs I have ever had! Milky, runny, and ever so fluffy. The other items were average...nothing to rant or rave about. My one suggestion?  Get the eggs.  Just don't expect exceptional service (actually, be prepared for verbal abuse).  Oh, and of course since it's so local, sharing tables is a must.

The waiter instantly handed me an English menu :) Is it that obvious?

Apparently, I also missed out on some delightful steamed milk pudding and egg custard pudding, so be sure to save room for dessert!
