Lab Made Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream

Just writing about this TST hotspot is making me crave it! Guess it doesn’t help that I’m in recovery mode after surgery and have been deprived of sweets L This made-to-order ice cream food truck provides the freshest and most unique ice cream there is. Flavours vary from Ferrero Rocher to Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip to Ginger and Yam Sweet Soup to Grilled Corn Chips to Coconut Pandan. Every week, they change up the flavours, usually releasing two new flavours (A and B) and returning two typical flavours (C and D). Each cup (of one scoop) costs about $45, if my memory serves me well. A bit steep but definitely worth every penny.

Bang Bang Modern Chinese Cuisine

I was a bit skeptical about this place solely because the name is…bang bang. I’m not sure why, but I wasn’t drawn to it. However, I was asked to dinner here and agreed to try something new. At first, I was uncertain about the caliber of the food, but thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised. The dishes did have a modern twist to the more traditional platters. Never judge a book by it’s cover, eh? The one complaint I will have is that the portions are small, especially for the menu prices.

Be sure to order it's well-known Sesame Chicken...they'll bring it out for you to take tons of pictures before chopping away!

Tallore

Rarely do I get to step outside the four walls of my school building on a weekday, but just as luck would have it, I had a certification meeting and found myself in Sheung Wan. Who knows why I chose this narrow street that had really become a construction site, but thankfully I did because I found Tallore. To me, it’s almost like a Panera Bread, but with less options.  Still, just as piping hot and tasty! I ordered a salad (half couscous, half caesar) and broccoli potato soup as take out to enjoy. It definitely hit the spot on a cold, winter day!

Oolaa

The name says it all. Yes, the décor is posh but the food comes with quite a reasonable price tag.  I actually quite enjoyed the ambiance…for a split second, I forgot I was in Asia and felt right back in Texas. Delish western brunch that’ll make me come running back again…and again.

La Taste

I’ve been on a hunt for some authentic and flavorful pho for a while now.  I did some research and Sassy Hong Kong recommended La Taste.  Now, to be fair, they recommended the shaking beef, not the pho, so maybe I should’ve opted for the former.  But, like I said, pho was what I needed.

I didn't leave feeling super satisfied with the pho...maybe there wasn't enough MSG? Kidding! :) But really, it just didn't meet the standards of the pho found in Houston.  Onto the next pho hotspot...

Their Vietnamese coffee....eh

Applegreen

Applegreen is located right below it’s sister restaurant, R&B, both of which are right around the corner from my flat.  Convenient, affordable, and light, I try to get my healthy meals in from this salad house.

The salad half portions are big and the full portions are GINORMOUS!  The appetizers are really tasty.  I didn’t enjoy the pasta…after all, this is the house of SALAD.

What I really love is the Guac and Chips…don’t know whether it’s because if I’ve been deprived of Tex-Mex for too long, but it’s all really fresh and delicious.

R&B

Research and Bakery, aka R&B, is located right above it’s sister restaurant, Applegreen.  Every time I got into the elevator to go to Applegreen, I’ve always been quite curious to see what R&B had to offer.  My curiosity got the best of me after a strenuous boxing session (I’m sure it cancelled everything I worked off) and was pleasantly surprised.

Although there aren’t too many options, there were enough variations that I didn’t get to try everything on the menu.  I’ll be visiting again shortly!
